His Goodness Leads Us To Repentance

HAVE you ever been told before that God sometimes punishes us to teach a lesson? Have you heard people quoting from the Bible to prove this point?

This is nothing more than a misinterpretation and a misquotation of the Bible. It is true that during the Old Covenant God was angry for a lot of times. And so this was one of the reasons why Jesus had to suffer at the cross. He absorbed in His body all the sins of the world and in Him, God unleashed all His righteous indignation and holy judgement against the sinfulness of man until there was none left. Jesus absorbed it all!

Today, it would be unrighteous for God to pour His judgement to us again, knowing full well that Jesus had paid the same judgement 2,000 years ago. The fact that Jesus was judged on our behalf is a guarantee that He will never ever be angry with us again.

We are now under the New Covenant where it is the Goodness of God (and not His punishment and wrath) that leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4). God still teaches us. He still does it. After all, He is still the Father and who better correct the children than Him. But He does NOT do it through sickness, sufferings, pains, and punishment. This is not biblical, and this is nothing more than a Satanic teaching trying to disfigure the image of a gracious God into a haunting and terrifying Punisher.

Be encouraged. We serve the Good God. And His plans is always to bless us and prosper us, plans of good and not evil (Jeremiah 29:11). Blessed day to all!
